I’ve never laughed this much in my life!

This is me now, with over 4 years of experience being a qualified personal trainer and fitness instructor. Setting up my own fitness and nutrition business originally founded in Colchester, Essex - now based on The Wirral and Liverpool. I’ve never felt more content than I do now, but it took a lot of hard work, effort, persistence, and the inevitable blood, sweat, and tears to get where I am today. I feel that my journey of becoming a personal trainer and fitness instructor has made me realise who I am and what I want, and it’s the greatest pleasure to be able to help my clients achieve the same. Each personal training session and each fitness class, online or in person, has me laughing more than I have ever done in my life - each of my clients remind me fitness is all about feeling good, having fun, and forming better relationships with yourself, your body, and others.

I’m no stranger to a negative body image, emotional eating, a lack of self-confidence, and struggling with my mental health.

Before I embarked upon my journey to become a personal trainer, I weighed 16.5 stone, lacking in self-love, confidence, and suffering from a negative self-image. There is a year in-between both photos, during which I made huge changes to my life, lifestyle, and attitude, and decided to become a fully qualified fitness instructor and personal trainer in Essex, and training clients online all around the world.

The girl who I used to be on the left side of this photo had low self-esteem, no confidence and actually really disliked how she looked and felt uncomfortable in her own skin. I experienced bullying in the workplace, which only made matters worse, and suffered from severe anxiety as a result. During this time was when I began to study for my Level 2, Fitness Instructor and Level 3 Personal Training to distract from the negative thoughts, and discovered that the gym was my medicine and worked better for me than the anxiety medication I was prescribed.

I promise you that you are not alone. People think that because I’m a personal trainer, I am 100% motivated to workout. This isn’t true. We all have bad days, and that’s OK.

I understand the emotional and physical side to weight loss and getting motivated to get fit. This last year as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor have taught me we are all far from perfect, but with the right guidance and support, you can achieve your fitness goals and feel all-around healthy, and happy in yourself.

I feel better now than ever, and that doesn’t mean every day is a good day. My clients help me as much as I help them as their personal trainer. My clients are my biggest motivation, and I love being part of everyone’s fitness journey. I’m still on a journey of my own and currently further developing my knowledge in the fitness industry by studying for my Level 4 in Nutrition and Level 2 in Mental Health and Fitness.

I struggle with self-confidence and seem to always put myself down. However, after my sessions with Laura I always feel energised and completely transformed in myself.
